I grew up fully immersed in the world of theatre back home in San Diego, CA, and I fell in love with it due to the sense of community that was created, as well as the stories that were told on stage, by us, week to week. As I got older, I began to understand that my adult passions were no longer rooted onstage, but behind the scenes, whether it was directing, writing scripts, or even producing and shooting my own videos.

I got the chance to explore all of these avenues of creativity while receiving my BFA in Directing at the University of Michigan and a Minor in Performing Arts Management and Entrepeneurship. There I took on a variety of roles including directing productions, assisting under older students, professors, and industry professional guest directors. I have also explored stage management, dramaturgy, and even writing my own plays and television scripts. I have always found that no matter what role I am taking on, the key to my success is kindness and a collaborative spirit. Individual ideas and intelligence can only take a person so far, and I have always enjoyed the process of reaching out to the others around me to make my projects come out even better than I could have originally envisioned.

Personally, I am attracted to new and bold material both on stage and screen, particularly material that explores complex female characters and relationships. I love the process of collaborating with writers on new work and have now approached that process from both sides, as a director and a writer. With that said, I also do love the challenge of taking an established classic work and turning it on its head for a new audience. I am interested in telling all kinds of stories from the realistic, to the romantic, to the surreal, and from the downtown style play, to the big musical, or the independent film. I want to try a bit of everything while I am young and have the energy. Most of all, I want to tell stories that make people think differently about their lives and that push them to feel and to feel deeply.
